The frameset used is the same Trek Alpha White Aluminium as used on the next model in the range, the Trek 1.2 and is lightweight with Trek's proven geometry offering a comfortable riding position and confident handling.

One downgrade compared to the next model in the range - the 1.2 -  is the use of an aluminium fork; whereas the 1.2 uses a carbon fork fork. The weight difference isn't huge and is lighter than many cheap carbon forks that are found on entry level bikes, but the carbon fork gives a smoother ride quality.

The drivertrain is primarily Shimano's entry level 2300 groupset, using 2300 STI Levers and mechs, along with an FSA Tempo Compact Chainset used and alloy dual pivot brakes. The saddle, seatpost, bars and stem are all provided by Trek's in house componentry brand Bontrager.

The Trek 1.1 Compact offers a comfortable ride and is an ideal bike for newcomers to road riding, or for riders want a fast commute.
