Unlike the Ridgeback Speed Ladies for the same money, the Comet does not have mudguards and a rack; instead it features upgraded componentry, with 8 speed shifting (as opposed to 7 speed on the Ridgeback Speed), with an upgraded rear mech.

The frame material is the same grade of aluminium, but has a slightly different shape to the Speed Ladies. If you like the look of teh Comet Ladies, but want guards and a rack, the Ridgeback Meteor is the same as the Comet ladies, but with guards and a rack.

An adjustable stem allows the riding position to be tuned to suit the rider, while the wheel package is upgraded compared to the Speed to offer a stronger and lighter wheelset.
