Bianchi Road Bikes Buyers Guide

A guide to the 2011 Bianchi Road Bike Range

This is a guide to the 2011 Bianchi road bike range. Bianchi's road bike range consists of different model families and within those families (or model ranges), different models of bike. This is a guide to each of the model families to help explain the differences between them.

From here you can click through to read in greater depth about the families and about the individual bikes and the differences between them, to help you choose the correct model for your needs.

Via Nirone 7

This is the entry level range from Bianchi, made from aluminium and using Bianchi's comfort Coast 2 Coast geometry. The Via Nirone range is named after the first trading address for Bianchi, back in Milan in 1885.

The bikes themselves used hydroformed aluminium frames with carbon fork. The main difference between the models in the Via Nirone range is the components used to equipe them. The Via Nirone range is great for the rider looking for a stylish bike, but not wanting to pay the earth.

Centostrade

The first full carbon models within the Bianchi range. This bike is made specifically for the UK market, originally it was a worldwide range, but was replaced in all other countries by the Infinito range (see below). The Centostrade’s remain popular in the UK offering great value for money and an introduction to carbon road bikes for many riders. As with the Via Nirone range, the Centrostrade’s use Bianchi’s Coast 2 Coast geometry models for a relaxed and comfortable ride.

Infinito

The Infinto range was introduced in 2010 and was an immediate success, very little has changed, or needed to, for the 2011 range. As with the Centostrade, the Infinito’s use Bianchi’s Coast 2 Coast geometry, but have a more conventional frame shape, and are lighter than the Centostrade’s. This were very popular at Beeline last year; their blend of comfort and performance making them great bikes for sportives.

Sempre

A new range for 2011, the Sempre is the more aggressive version of the Infinito, using Bianchi’s Born 4 Performance geometry (B4P). The performance orientated geometry means the headtube is reduced in length and the top tube lengthened, stretching the rider out, reducing comfort, but for speed, reducing drag.

Oltre

Wow. Stunning high end Bianchi’s. This is a case of Bianchi showing off, illustrating just what beautiful bikes they make. The prices are prohibitive though, starting at around £8000. These use Bianchi’s Hors Category geometry, their most responsive and aggressive geometries, as used by the pro’s. The Oltre comes in a Campganolo Super Record equipped version or a Shimano Dura-Ace model.
