Beeline: The Turbo Vado 3.0 is part of Specialized’s exceptional Turbo Vado range, offering a smooth powerful motor for a quiet ride with the power coming on seamlessly. Like all electric bikes, the speed is capped at 25 kph (approx. 15.5mph). This means that the bike does the hard part for you, assisting with acceleration from traffic lights, uphill and generally when the going is tough!
One of the great features of the Vado range is the battery, which is good for 700 full recharges. To clarify, this means if it is charged for a ¼ of a full charge, this would still leave 699 & ¾! One of the re-occurring questions is of run times, but this varies according to the amount the battery is drained, but all the anecdotal evidence and reports we have received from customers is good, lasting for 6-8 hours without being fully drained. Furthermore, through the custom computer on the bars you can monitor battery usage.
The Vado 3.0 features a 460 watt battery for great battery life and range when riding. One of the key features of the Vado range is the integration of the battery into the frame, which helps the balance of the bike for great ride characteristics and handling, using a key to easily remove and fit the battery, not to mention it looks a lot nicer than a slapped on battery!
The motor is made by Brose (who make motors and electric parts for 50% of the automotive market) and can be run in three modes: Eco, Sport and Turbo – providing 20%, 50% and 100% support respectively, and these can be adjusted with a simple toggle of a button on the bars.
The Vado 3.0 comes equipped with suspension forks for absorption of bumps and vibrations from road or track, aided by wide 47mm tyres for a stable ride, with Shimano 9 speed Alivio shifters used with a single 40T chainring front and Tektro hydraulic discs provides powerful braking.
This is a great bike for commuting on, or simply taking out on leisure rides, assisting with the tough stuff and delivering riding pleasure.

Beginning with the integrated Specialized 1.2 E motor, the Turbo Vado proves itself as the ultimate city bike. The 1.2 E uses the same hardware as our 1.2 motor, but it features a tune that prioritizes efficiency. This means less peak torque and maximum output. Of course, it still features a near-silent operating design with our Custom Rx Street Tune that takes the output and makes it the most usable for an urban environment. Think of it this way: The more power you put out, the more power the motor puts out, and this makes accelerations from a standstill at, say, a traffic light both quick and efficient. The belt driven motor is also smooth, silent, and free of annoying vibrations.
For the Vado 3.0, we developed a custom Specialized U1-460 battery that seamlessly integrates into the frame, is lockable, and easily removable for simplified charging. In other words, there's plenty of juice to take you to and from work, a trip to the grocery store, or even to that new café on the other side of the city. The new wired Turbo Connect Display (TCD-w) is the best way to view data on your Turbo. It not only displays important ride metrics (speed, cadence, rider power, distance, battery level, time, etc.), it also allows you to connect the latest version of the Mission Control App for an enhanced Turbo experience. With our free app for iOS and Android phones, you easily customize motor parameters, control your range, record/upload rides, and perform basic system diagnosis.
To top off all of the innovative features, we chose a worry-free spec that features Shimano 9-speed components, hydraulic disc brakes, front/rear lights, and fender & rack mounts.
